Sportsister joins up with Wormsley Cricket Ground and All Out Cricket

June 3, 2024

Sportsister is pleased to announce new partnerships with Wormsley, the private cricket ground owned by the Getty family in Buckinghamshire and leading cricket magazine, All Out Cricket.

With particular focus on the only Women’s Ashes Test match taking place at Wormsley as part of the Women’s Ashes Series, our new media partnerships will bring together the leading voices in women’s sport and focus attention on the match and women’s cricket at all levels during the busy summer of cricket ahead.

The partnerships will include fortnightly Women’s Ashes Special E-Newsletters, as well as regular news and views from the England Women’s Cricket team as they look forward to the Ashes Test Match this August.

It will also help to highlight the work of Chance to Shine, the chosen charity partner for the match by Wormsley and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The initiative, designed to bring cricket back into state schools, recently celebrated the landmark of two million children going through the programme, 46% of them girls. The England Women’s team also regularly work as both ambassadors and coaches for Chance to Shine, ensuring a great fit for the Test match.

Here at Sportsister we’re really excited about this new partnership.

Since 2008 we have consistently offered women at all levels of sport, from elite-level athlete to beginners, features, news and information which we feel is important to them across all sports and disciplines.

Our founder Danielle said, “We are excited to be working with Wormsley and assisting in promoting women’s cricket across all levels – from participation to watching.

“There are many women who love sport who might not have thought about cricket and so we look forward to inspiring them to get out there and pick up a bat.”

All Out Cricket, which celebrated its tenth anniversary late last year, are at the forefront of cricket media and regularly help to promote the women’s game, producing stand-alone women’s cricket specials, features, previews and reviews about all levels of the game in both print and digital media.

Matt Thacker, Publishing Editor of All Out Cricket, said, “There has been a huge growth in interest in women’s sport since the Olympics and we are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with Wormsley in promoting the Women’s Ashes Test.

Women’s cricket at all levels deserves to be in the limelight and we look forward to working with Wormsley and Sportsister in making that so.”

Tim Munton, MD of Wormsley Cricket Ground said, “The England women’s cricket team continues to be amongst the best in the world and we are proud at Wormsley to have been able to host them on many occasions.

“Being the venue for the test match is very special and allows us to spread the word on the successes of the women’s game - from the grass roots work of Chance to Shine to the elite athletes in the team.

“Working with such well established brands as AOC and Sportsister will help us to do this and allow us to communicate to fans and players across the sporting arena.”
