Football: Little wins first women’s PFA award

Arsenal Ladies midfielder Kim Little was chosen as the inaugural winner of the Professional Footballers’ Association Women’s Player of the Year award.
Women have been allowed the join the PFA - the players’ union - for the first time from next season, with this year being the first time women were included in the awards.
Little has been a regular for Arsenal since arriving from Hibernian six years ago, and she was part of the British team that reached the Olympic quarter finals in 2012.
“For years I have watched this event on television so to come here and win the first award is fantastic,” said Little. “It was a great night for me.”
