Tried and tested: AnaNichoola Black Star Jersey

We love testing great looking kit here at Sportsister, but if it doesn’t perform then it gets a big thumbs down. So what did we make of the super-cool AnaNichoola Black Star cycling Jersey?

We tested this jersey over several rides, and a spinning session. We layered it, stuffed the back pockets, dressed it down with plain black tights, and dressed it up with a skirt for a fun, leisure ride in the sun. Our verdict? Apart from a few minor technical details we loved it and it is now very firmly in our ‘A’ list pile of favourite sportswear.

Rating: 3.5/5

Good points:

- It looks fantastic, one of the most stylish cycling jerseys around
- The styling details give it a fashionable twist whilst still maintaining a functional silhouette
- The print is eye-catching, but like the best fashion items can be dressed up or down depending on your look!

Bad points:

- The front zip is not full length as stated on the website - it is in fact 3/4 length which is a shame as we would have liked to have unzipped at pit-stops
- We are not entirely sold on the shape of the back stuff pockets, but this is a personal taste thing
- Sizing - the blurb says loose fit, our sample is a medium and was worn by a size 8 so we think it comes up a little on the small side.

Conclusion:

Thumbs-up outweigh the thumbs-down. We love this shirt and salute AnaNichoola for producing gear with a bit more fashion savvy.
