Zoe Gillings, Britain’s leading snowboarder cross rider, finished 10th at the FIS World Championships in Canada.
In freezing temperatures of -30, the 27 year old from the Isle of Mann made it through the quarter finals stage despite a rider pile up, but could not progress any further than the semi’s, when once again rider crashes played a big part in the race.
Tweeting after the event, Gillings said, “Arghhh…. so many crashes…… If I was out in front I wouldnt have had a problem!”
Gillings is currently in seventh place in the World Cup season’s standings with four races remaining.
