Snowsports: British women's weekend results

The snowsports season is hotting up ahead of next season’s Winter Olympics in Sochi and this weekend saw the British bobsleigh, skeleton and ski teams in action.

Paula Walker with brakewoman Kelly Denyer finished seventh in the two women bobsleigh in Konigsee, Germany. This is the second best result of the season for Walker and only a week after flipping her sled while leading in the Altenberg race with Brakewoman Gillian Cooke. Cooke suffered minor injuries which ruled her out of action this week.

Shelley Rudman also claimed seventh place in the women’s skeleton, leaving her seventh in the overall standings. Lizzy Yarnold has slipped to third overall after only managing 11th place.

Chemmy Alcott was in action in St Anton, Austria where she finished 42nd in the downhill and 27th in the Super G. Despite the disappointing final ranking, the downhill showed promise and Alcott would have finished significantly higher had she not made a mistake two gates from home.
