The 27-year-old from Hertfordshire and her horse Valegro received a score of 87.975%. This partnership has proven to be truly successful after the London 2012 Games where Dujardin and Valegro won both an individual gold and a team gold medal at Greenwich Park.
Her coach, mentor and teammate, Carl Hester, finished third behind Dujardin and Germany’s Isabell Werth.
Hester spoke of Dujardin: “Charlotte never ceases to amaze, she is undoubtedly one of the best riders in the world because of her feel, which is to do with timing. Timing is everything and she has it.”
