Beauty fads come and go, so when a brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary you know it’s time to take note.
As of this year, Avon’s ANEW skincare line has been gracing women’s bathroom shelves across the country for two decades. So we decided to test out two brand new products, launched in this anniversary year, to see how the brand keeps itself at the cutting edge of skincare innovation.
If you, like me, are attracted to the results promised by a microdermabrasion, but put off at the thought of red, irritated skin and expensive in-salon treatments, then the ANEW Clinical Resurfacing Expert Smoothing Fluid (£25) is a great alternative. Use twice a day on freshly cleansed skin and it promises ‘younger, smoother and more even-toned’ skin. Before use I was a little sceptical of the claim that ‘after just one week 100% of women showed improvement in smoothness, brightness, fine wrinkling and sun damage.’ But I am pleasantly surprised to report that their 100% record is still intact – my skin feels smoother and it’s definitely more radiant. I have not noticed a difference on my fine wrinkles or areas of skin that are sun damaged but it has only been ten days. So watch this space.
I’ve been testing this alongside the ANEW Clinical Pro Line Corrector Treatment with A-F33 (£30), a serum that launched in September (with a wait list of 60,000 people – yes that’s right 60, 000!). It quickly became a beauty must-have with reports of it flying off the shelves at a rate of 10 bottles per minute. Why all the excitement? It’s thanks to A-F33, a powerful new anti-aging molecule that even dermatologists haven’t got their hands on yet.
Unlike well-known anti-aging ingredients such as glycolic acid, retinol, and CoQ10, A-F33 helps to unleash untapped collagen in your skin resulting in smoother, wrinkle free skin. In fact, in testing 100% of participants showed an improvement in the appearance of fine wrinkles after 11 weeks. I have not been testing it that long but I am really happy with how my skin has reacted to both these products, and thanks to the purse friendly price tags I’d happily part with my cash to re-stock once these testers have run out.
If Avon keep this up, there’s no doubt in my mind they will be around to celebrate another 20 years of skincare innovations.
