ODLO stand-up collar RACE running top

There’s a definite chill in the air, so it’s been the perfect time to put ODLO’s RACE running top to the test.

Constructed using ODLO’s ‘Logic Windproof’ material, the RACE is marketed as windproof, water repellent and very breathable, so perfect for the current climate.

Verdict
Overall I really like the RACE for its windproof qualities. It’s only water repellant and doesn’t claim to be water proof, so this isn’t one to wear in persistent downpours but thanks to its breathability, the brushed inner for insulation and how windproof it is, it’s certainly my current top of choice for those chilly and windy night time runs.

Good points:
- Very wind proof
- Warm but breathable
- Bright enough to get me noticed on my night time runs

Bad points:
- I would have liked to have seen a couple of thumb holes in the double sleeve cuffs
- Making the pocket a little bigger wouldn’t be a bad thing

Kerensa and Michaela, founders of the State of Mind sportswear range, are my new favourite people. Not only have they designed a range of simple, classic and wearable sportswear and swimwear, but they’ve done something which the vast majority of other sports kit companies seem reluctant to address – they’ve catered their range specifically for sizes 16 - 26.
