Get on your bike and get rewarded with Gatorade
The Gatorade Hit Squad have taken to the roads of North London and St Albans for the first of many rides around the cycling routes of Britain to reward cyclists out riding with their Gatorade Green Bottles.
The squad, which will normally consist of four or five riders, are dressed head to toe in black Gatorade Adidas cycling kit to make them easily identifiable.
When the Hit Squad finds a rider, they then reward them with a prize and free Gatorade sample amongst other things.
Neil Odom-Haslettt, who was out riding and was found by the Hit Squad, commented; “It was nice surprise when the guys from the Gatorade Hit Squad stopped me. Not the kind of thing you expect when you are out riding but a nice treat. I then even joined in and rode with them for a couple of hours. Was good fun!”
The Hit Squad will be riding routes in eight locations in August, September and early October with the next scheduled rides on August 12 (Leeds/West Yorkshire) and 18(Blenheim/Oxfordshire).
For cyclists looking to find the riders the Gatorade Green Bottle Hit Squad route outlines will be published in advance of each ride on www.gatorade.co.uk/hitsquad, on Twitter at @Gatoradeuk and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/gatoradeuk.
Additionally, Gatorade will release details of ride leader’s Twitter handle, which will send updates on the squad’s location during the ride.
Gatorade Marketing Director, Hayley Stringfellow said: “Hit Squad is all about rewarding our dedicated fans.
“The riders themselves will be a mix of our staff, suppliers, customers and athletes. On some of the rides there may be some very recognisable faces. We’ll be using Twitter to let people know what we’re up to so they can get involved”.
Riders who don’t yet have a Gatorade Green Bottle can still get one via Gatorade’s summer green bottle promotion until August 20, full details of this can be found at www.gatorade.co.uk/greenbottle.
