For the first time, Nike Sportswear and Liberty are extending their partnership to produce two styles of women’s high performance track spikes.

Nike have dubbed their new creation: ‘The ultimate fusion of style and performance on and off the track’ and here at Sportsister, we can’t help but agree. Not only do they aim to improve running performance, they’re also look fantastic!

The Nike Zoom Victory Elite (pictured) is designed specifically for the 1500 metres and aims to maximise athletes’ on-track potential. While the contrasting volt colour of the spike and the original 1960s floral ‘Mirabelle’ print gives the shoe an on-trend and distinctive Liberty identity.

And we are not the only ones who think they are fab! Only on Sunday, 400m Hurdler Perri-Shakes Drayton sported a pair as she competed in the Olympic semi-final. The 23-year-old Londoner was wearing a pair of the spikes as she won her heat in 54.62 seconds.

The shoe combines an ultra-responsive carbon plate with a dynamic Nike Flywire upper. Whilst the high tensile strength Nike Flywire cables provide support and stability for the foot.  It also includes a lightweight foam midsole and innovative carbon fiber plate, which combine to offer superior fit, comfort and traction.

The other spike to feature the ‘Mirabelle’ print has been created solely for those elite female track athletes sponsored by Nike and comes in the form of the Nike Zoom JA Fly (pictured above). High-strength Flywire cables are employed to provide targeted support and help lock the foot in place, while the rigid plate with eight spike receptacles provides traction and power on the track.

The Nike Zoom Victory Elite is available to buy exclusively from the Liberty Store, on Regent Street in London for £150.
