Following both their third round victories yesterday, Britain’s top two mixed doubles pairs will meet in the quarter-finals of the European Championships in Sweden.
Fourth seeds Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier, who had previously had a bye and a walkover, beat Anton Kaisti and Jenny Nystrom of Finland 21-15 21-6.
The Anglo-Scottish duo are on course to represent Britain at the Olympics, but Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork, who won twice on Wednesday, could boost their bid by beating them.
Sixth seeds Robertson and Wallwork, ranked 20th in the world, hope to overtake their tenth ranked rivals to seal the only GB place on offer in the mixed doubles at London 2012.
They saw off Aleksei Konakh and Alesia Zaitsava of Belarus, in the first match of the day and then beat Peter Kaesbauer and Johanna Goliszewski of Germany 21-18 15-21 21-10 to reach the last eight.
Following the Europeans they will have one last opportunity to gain Olympic ranking points at the Indian Open before selection is confirmed.
Elsewhere, Mariana Agathangelou and Heather Olver maintained interest in the women’s doubles by beating Samantha Barning and Ilse Vaessen of Holland 21-14 21-9.
