Hockey: Great Britain starts dribbling

Great Britain needs your help to attempt to set a record for dribbling hockey balls 2012km across Great Britain.
The NPower Big Dribble is an opportunity for the public to get involved with celebrities, local communities and Great Britain hockey players and take part in the hockey road show.
Everybody is welcome, all ages and all abilities, it’s a great chance to get into the Olympic spirit and get active, just pick up a stick, head to your nearest event and dribble 100m.
Great Britain’s Vikki Bunce will be kicking things off in Edinburgh on 15 April and the event will then tour the country over eighteen days.
Vikki tweeted: “@ScottishHockey: #npowerbigdribble in Edinburgh and Glasgow on Sunday 15 April? Looking forward to it, who else will be there?”
On 18 April in Manchester and Liverpool Vikki’s team mate Sam Quek will be helping with the event and in Birmingham on 21 April, Great Britain goalkeeper James Fair will be joined by Jane Sixsmith.
Jennie Price, Sue Campbell and Tamsin Greenway are just some of the other famous faces taking part in this national event.
There will also be an opportunity to wish the Great Britain hockey team ’good luck’ by writing a message on the giant hockey ball, which will journey around Britain with the road show before being presented to the team at the end of the event in Traflagar Square, London.
Great Britain’s hockey team will start their Olympic competition on 29 July.
Everybody who takes part in the event will receive a certificate and your photo will appear in The Big Dribble gallery.
The NPpower Big Dribble supports WellChild, the UK’s national charity for sick children and is part of Great Britain Hockey’s Hockey Nation programme.
