Tomorrow, 4 April, is the first day of the UCI Track Cycling World Championships; the pinnacle of world track cycling, attracting the top riders from more than 40 countries across the world.
The event has significance on the international track cycling calendar as it is the final qualifying event in the lead-up to the 2012 Olympic Games and amongst the GB cyclists competing will be eight times world champion Victoria Pendleton.
Pendleton looked on top form at February’s Track World Cup taking gold in the team sprint with Jessica Varnish, and shes in action in the same event on the opening day of the World Championships tomorrow.
