Sportsister tests – RunSpeed One women’s running socks

Training for the marathon has taught me the importance of great kit. A good pair of trainers, a good supportive sports bra and good anti-rub clothing are all essential.

But why stop there? So I teamed up with Sweatshop, the UK’s largest specialist running shop, to try out some of their specially designed RunSpeed One running socks, that promise to reduce blistering, heat build-up, cramps, aching feet and skin irritations. Sounds pretty ideal to me!

The socks are primarily designed for short to medium length races, granted not marathon running, but a part of my training is shorter sprint speed work so this ties in nicely.

My conclusion? They are fantastic. I can’t believe so much can go on within a sock; packed full of advanced technology they not only deliver their promise but also create a flawless and comfortable fit around my foot.

Rating: 4.5/5

Good points:

- They look professional, feminine and fun and are very soft

- They are very lightweight and breathable

- Because of the technology for a woman’s foot and the self-adjusting cuff, they fit my foot perfectly, I didn’t even feel them whilst training

- The really do deliver every promise that they make

Bad points:

- The price is definitely more than I am used to spending on sports socks
