Thinking of booking your summer holidays soon? Rather than just paddling in the pool or taking a quick dip in the ocean, why not do a little more in the water this year and experience a unique swimming holiday?
We love all three and can’t quite decide which one is best!
Swimtrek

Swimtrek organise guided swimming holidays across the world with options ranging from a one mile swim around Burgh Island in Devon to a week island hopping in the British Virgin Islands.

Martin and Borut Strel are two passionate and adventurous open water swimmers who organise swimming holidays in Slovenia, Croatia and the USA. Their four day trip to Slovenia’s crystal clear lakes and rivers is really special (£420).
Highlights include swimming across Lake Bled with its seventh century church, across the mountain backed Lake Bohinij and down the glacial river Soca.

Volunteering holiday
Put your swimming skills to good use for this holiday (£845) where you can teach Indian children how to swim. In the province of Tamil Nadur many children are unable to swim and when the monsoon comes drowning is a real concern.
You can spend two weeks teaching at a school in Madurai where these under-privileged children will learn swimming technique and water safety.
