My next challenge will be the London Urban Rat Race Adventure. I shall be taking on the challenge as part of team of three in the ‘Nine 2 Five‘ event on Sunday 25 September.
The London Rat Race is an urban adventure challenge event that turns the nation’s capital into a high-adrenaline adventure playground for participants of all abilities. Teams of three and pairs will jog, bike, abseil, climb, kayak and navigate their way around the streets, structures, waterways and urban landscapes of the country’s capital.

Sunday’s ‘Nine to Five’ provides the sense of adventure. Scenery changes from the urban grit of the city to the spectacular expanses of the suburban countryside as competitors cycle between running, abseiling and kayaking challenges.
The organisers like to keep the challenges and course a secret until the event day. However, in previous years, the challenges have encompassed spectacular locations including abseils from Twickenham Rugby Stadium and The Oval Cricket Ground. Competitors have also kayaked around the Docklands, scrambled over cargo nets at the Imperial War Museum, pulled army trucks across the Honourable Artillery Club, swum in the wake of Olympic swimmers and mountain biked over, around and through the capital’s most well known landmarks.
If you’re interested in taking part you can register for either the ‘Mean Streets’ ‘Nine 2 five‘ or ‘Weekender’ challenges via the Rate Race website: www.ratraceadventure.com/page3.asp
