Spectacular endurance run lined up for Hadrian’s wall country
When: 23 -24 June 2012
Where: England - the North East (Hadrian’s Wall)
Details: ‘The Wall’ is a brand-new and unique ‘Ultra Distance’ run that will see participants traversing the frontier of the Roman Empire through Hadrian’s Wall Country, covering a distance of some 65 miles.
Starting at Carlisle Castle and finishing at the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, the route mixes city and countryside and can be attempted either as a two-day challenge (‘Challenger’ category), with an overnight camp at the central section of the Hadrian’s Wall corridor, or in a continuous attempt (‘Expert’ category).
It is open to solo participants or as a self supported relay team of two, three or four.
The event has been organised by the UK’s leading adventure sports company Rat Race Adventure Sports.
A fundraising programme has also been initiated where participants can offset 20% of the cost of their entry fee in exchange for funds raised towards the upkeep of Wall Country and Hadrian’s Wall itself.
Entry Prices: Entry for the Expert (one day) category is priced at £150 and includes baggage transfer from the start to the finish. The Challenger (two day) category costs £200 per person and includes overnight camping accommodation and a full baggage transport service. The Relay Team entry is priced at £120 per person and teams can be two – four people in size.
