Details: If you’ve ever fancied trying your hand at surfing then there’s no better place to learn than on the sun soaked Hossegor coastline.

Make your last festival of the season one to remember and embrace the surfing lifestyle in France’s surf capital Angresse, Hossegor for a surf and sound spectacular called Groundswell, the newest surf and music festival on the block. Organised by UK surfing duo Linzi and Jeff Wilson - who run the annual sell-out Grassroots Festival in Jersey, the event will be an authentic laid-back surf and music experience for 15,000 people set amongst the lush pine-forest coastline of Hossegor.

Groundswell have an impressive lineup for sun-soaked revelers, with top acts such as Kelis giving it her ‘Bounce’, and Grammy award winner Jason Mraz headlining with his platinum selling songs. Along with Kelis and Jason, surf and music legend Donavon Frankenreiter will be playing, UK folk singer Newton Faulkner, and the great French eclectic act Cocoon. Aussie Mat McHugh of the “The Beautiful Girls” fame and UK musician Ben Howard will be injecting some carefree surf style harmonies on the Festival’s Grassroots Stage; and the Groundswell Dance Arena will be moving courtesy of Felix Da Housecat, Erol Alkan, plus DJ Don Rimini will also be on hand to keep the party going.

Not only will there be top music to check out but there’ll be an action sports outdoor arena, courtesy of online action sports MPORA, with bmx and skate demos taking place. A few minutes away on the coast there’ll also be surf expression sessions taking place with Europe’s best surfers set to entertain the sun baked crowd. If you’ve never surfed before, or just want to get better there’s English speaking surf schools ready to help you catch the surfing bug. This is one festival trip where you can be sure to leave the wellies at home.
