Editor’s letter – July 2011
The start of July means a brand new issue of Sportsister is out. And I am really excited about all the great articles packed inside. As usual we cover a broad range of sports from the expected – running, cycling – to the perhaps more surprising – adventure racing, sailing.
Plus I’m really thrilled to have Olympic and world champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton on the front cover. She joins a host of Britain’s’ top female sports stars that have been photographed for Sportsister’s pages. You can read about the new women only cycling event, Cycletta, that she is an ambassador for. She’ll be taking part, and so will Sportsister, so make sure you sign up to join us. You can even try and win a free entry for you and a friend.
If you don’t already subscribe to Sportsister but would like to have each issue delivered to your door then you’ll love our new special offer. We are offering readers 6 issues of Sportsister plus a free Pepperfit body lotion worth over £20 for just £10. How can you say no to that? Just click here to subscribe and claim your free gift.
In addition to our print magazine there are lots of other ways you can get your Sportsister fix. You can sign up to receive our e-newsletter that drops into your inbox every Thursday with the latest news, features and compeittions.
Fans of Twitter can follow us here, it’s a good way to keep track of some of the best new features as well as bits and pieces about what the Sportsister team is up to.
For Facebook fans don’t miss our page here, it’s a good place to find out about the latest competitions as well the spot for you to share your thoughts/tips/woes/photos with the Sportsister team. For all the latest trends spotted in the world of sport don’t miss our Tumblr site, this is the one for the cool kids.
And of course that’s not forgetting Sportsister.com where we have new features going up every day and where our team of bloggers can also be found.
Summer is truly a great time for sport, both for doing it and for watching. We’ve just finished with all the excitement of Wimbledon, we are in the midst of a football World Cup in Germany, the netball World Championships have just started in Singapore and the Giro Donne 2011 road cycling event is underway in Italy. And that’s to name just a few. We’ll be bringing you all the leading news from the world of women’s sport throughout the summer so make sure you keep up to date with Sportsister.
Enjoy,
Louise Hudson, Sportsister
