The Ride to Recovery

When: September 5-17, 2011

Where: Plymouth to Edinburgh

Details: The Ride to Recovery is Help for Heroes’ newest, toughest and most challenging bike ride. It spans the length and breadth of the UK – approx. 850 miles.

The Ride to Recovery will raise money for the new Personnel Recovery Centres (PRCs) that will provide wounded servicemen and women with a supportive, yet familiar military environment, in which to recover once they have left Headley Court.

This challenge is unique as it takes participants on a journey to see the Garrison towns at which the PRCs will be located. Cycling from Plymouth to Tidworth to Colchester to Catterick and finishing in Edinburgh, riders will see, firsthand, the good that Help for Heroes will do with the money that is raised as a result of this fundraising challenge.

The R2R will be broken down into four elements – the Core Ride (the whole thing), the Leg Rides (3 – 4 days), the Day Rides and the Five Mile Rides. This is to enable everyone to ‘do their bit’ to support our men and women of our armed forces.
