The Run, which will be set in the heart of The Lake District National Park, looks to become a classic of the running calendar.

The Trail Run incorporates a 10k, a Half Marathon, and unusually a walk.

Runners and walkers will cover varied terrain, keeping people off the main highways to enjoy the wonderful scenery of the famous twin valleys of Great Langdale and Little Langdale.

With a fully marked route, water stations and experienced marshalls, the Ronhill Great Langdale Trail Run is perfect for runners of all abilities.

Davy Newell, organiser of the Ronhill Great Langdale Trail Run, said: “We had been trying to keep the event under wraps for a little while but it has leaked out and we already have close to 200 participants.

“We knew that the route is so stunning that we would be inundated with people wanting to take part,” he added.

With very few organized walks in the locality they are hoping to encourage friends and family of the runners to experience the breathtaking scenery.

“We are encouraging runners and walkers, old and young, to put their best foot forward, and get sponsored to fund raise for the MS Society, our charity partner,” Mr Newell added.

The team behind the Ronhill Great Langdale Trail Run were thrilled when Ronhill agreed to title sponsor the event.

“We were obviously thrilled when Ronhill agreed, it shows the commitment they have for events in the Lake District, and will certainly help attract fans of Ronhill to the run, together with some well known names.”
