London Rollergirls bout
When: March 5, 2024
Where: Earls Court (Brompton Hall), London
Details: The sun’s coming out, evenings are getting longer… and London Rollergirls’ four league teams are getting ready for a fresh round of pummeling!
It hasn’t been long since the fearsome Steam Rollers, Harbour Grudges, Ultraviolent Femmes and Suffra Jets last met on the track, but they’re out for blood again.
Two back-to-back bouts will see the Grudges fight to keep their place at the top of the LRG league table against the 2nd-placed Rollers, while the Femmes will be looking to prove themselves to the Jets.
Roller derby is one of the fastest-growing sports for women in the UK and around the world, involving speed, strength, strategy on roller skates, and all of the teams are packed with tireless athletes.
This season’s new home ground at Earls Court includes an onsite bar and café, and merchandise stalls selling souvenirs and roller derby gear. There will also be a charity raffle, Krispy Kreme doughnuts for sale, DJs, commentators who’ll explain the game plays for first-time spectators, and a rocking afterparty at a venue close to Earls Court.
