Young English golfers led the way at the Hacienda del Alamo women’s and girls’ golf festival in Murcia Spain as they staged a series of winning performances led by Norfolk’s Amber Ratcliffe.
Ratcliffe, who trains with EWGA’s Select Midlands squad, was a double winner, capturing the Murcia U16 title and the 54-hole Hacienda ladies’ championship.
The Royal Cromer player was joined in the winners’ circle by England girl international Bronte Law (Bramhall), Daisy-May Kenny (Cuddington), Gabriella Cowley (West Essex) and English schools’ champion Meghan MacLaren (Wellingborough).
15-year-old Ratcliffe opened her account with a 10-shot win in the Murcia U16 championship, concluding the 36-hole event with a level par 72. In the Hacienda ladies’ championship she started with an immaculate four-under par 68 and went on to return a 54-hole total of one-under par, to win by four shots.
