Try something new with a Sportsister recommended course

Join one of Sportsister’s endorsed courses and enjoy trying a new sport this year. Aimed at beginners, with friendly tuition, they’ll get you out of the starting blocks.

Our first three courses are kayaking, golf and mountain biking, they are all run by experts in their field and are all women’s only courses.

Why not team up with a friend and make it a weekend or day with a difference. And if you want to go it alone, never fear, the courses will be really welcoming and friendly and you will be with like-minded sportsisters! You never know you make make some new friends along the way too.

One of the Sportsister team may well be there to meet, greet and encourage you on your way. We plan to document some of the days online so you can share the fun with others and hopefully encourage more women to get involved in an active lifestyle. (Don’t worry if you are camera shy - we won’t shoot anyone who doesn’t want to be photographed)

Golf

World of Golf has condensed its 6 week beginners course especially for Sportsister into an intensive 6 hour programme designed to turn you into a competent, regular golfer with no “bad habits”. World of Golf’s PGA qualified instructors will guide you step-by-step through the basics of golf from the grip to the full swing, using a variety of clubs.

Kayaking

This two day, women only non residential course is a great introduction to the sport of kayaking. Held on a sheltered saltwater lake it’s the ideal location for beginners. During the weekend you will learn all the essential skills to boost your confidence on the water. With a small student to instructor ratio with fully qualified and experienced female coaches you’ll be in great hands. The course will be run by Nomads Kayak Coaching.

Mountain biking

This is an introductory skills course suitable for beginners. You will learn the basics of mountain biking, including basic hill riding, front wheel lifts, drop offs, braking techniques and positioning on the bike. This course will be run by Get Mountain Biking.
