This month Sportsister loves…..

Here at Sportsister we get inundated with news of new products every day. In our monthly feature we will bring you some of the favourite things we have come across. This month there’s a brand new running shoe, some great sports headphones and a fresh running collection for spring.

Panasonic sports headphones

Price: £29.99

Stockists: www.panasonic.co.uk

For many people exercising with music is a must, but all too often headphones refuse to stay put when you are on the move. But these new headphones from Panasonic, the RP-HS200E, have a hanger design that hooks around the ear lobe, and remain in place no matter how vigorous your workout maybe.

They are also water resistant which means they’ll stand up to outdoor running in the wet and also remain unaffected no matter how much of a sweat you work up. Plus the ultra comfortable in ear speaker does not compromise sound quality as the 12.4mm side mount amplifier produces powerful sound to really get the adrenaline pumping.

They are available in five different colours: orange, blue, champagne, black and white.

Helly Hansen Pace Series

Price: £26-£80

Stockists: www.hellyhansen.com

The temperatures may be plummeting outside but come January the shops will be stocking their spring collections. This new range from Norwegian outdoor brand Helly Hansen is a collection of high performance clothing to make sure that anybody pursuing any physically challenging outdoor or watersports endeavour can reach their full potential.

The collection is made from HH Cool, Helly Hansen’s most advanced fabric for high intensity workouts. HH Cool is proven to pull excess heat and moisture away from the skin to provide a cooling effect superior to any alternative Polyester or natural fibres. The collection includes a singlet (pictured centre), jersey tee, windbreaker (pictured left) and a windproof jacket with zip off sleeves (pictured right).

On Running shoe

Price: £120.00

Stockists: www.on-running.com and www.runningshoeslondon.co.uk

This brand new running shoe has been described as ‘running on clouds’ thanks to the innovative 3D cushioning. At first glance you can see this shoe is something different in the market, with its low profile upper, wider design and unique sole.

The On differs from conventional cushioning systems by absorbing both the vertical and horizontal forces that impact the runner’s body, reducing the impact on muscles and joints by up to 30 percent. As the foot hits the ground with forward momentum, the thirteen circular pieces of rubber fold back to allow the foot to glide to a softer halt, as if on sand. After impact, small teeth on the interior surface lock together to provide optimal push-off, as if on concrete.

Plus the On shoe’s flexible sole and low heel actually activate the postural muscles – which can degenerate due to overdependence on control aides in traditional running shoes – leading to a lighter, more enjoyable running experience.

Ripcurl Ultimate Jacket combined with S-Bomb Inner Vest

Price: £450.00

Stockists: www.ripcurl.com

Ever found yourself shivering on the slopes? Getting chilly on a chairlift? Well, thanks to RipCurl’s innovative power heated vest and jacket that can be a thing of the past. The S-Bomb is the first high performance heated inner vest, which features a powered heating system in the lower back.

This clever piece of gear can control your temperature at the flick of a switch; you can inject a bit of heat ready for the first run of the day, keep toasty while you queue for the ski lifts and turn it off once you’re nicely warmed up.

The vest is designed to be worn with the Ultimate Jacket which is super comfortable and waterproof to boot so if you do find yourself getting up close and personal with the snow, you’ll find it’s really not so bad! Not that we’re suggesting that’s going to happen of course.
