Details: Amphibians by Steve Waters, directed by Cressida Brown, premieres in part of the abandoned Victorian swimming pool beneath Bridewell Theatre off Fleet Street in London.
The play, which includes underwater footage of former Olympian Adrian Turner, explores the challenge of becoming an Olympic swimmer, looking at the emotional struggles beneath the surface in the quest for victory, the disappointments and the betrayals.
It is entirely based on eloquent and emotionally revealing testimonies of former and current Olympians and is described as ‘a gripping production, a fascinating multi-media experience’.
Amphibians is part of Offstage Theatre’s ambitious Olympic Swimmer Project, linked to the 2012 Olympics in London.
