NSPCC Step Change

December 2, 2010

When: 6 March 2011

Where: London

Details: The NSPCC is challenging runners to attempt a totally unique run where the finish lines isn’t 100m down the road but 38 floors above the ground.

NSPCC-Step-ChangeLondon’s iconic 30 St Mary Axe aka ‘The Gherkin’ will play host to Step Change, a charity tower running event aiming to raise £200,000 for the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal, ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline for adults concerned about a child.

Runners are challenged to conquer all 1,037 steps before taking a well earned rest and enjoy the stunning views from the 40/30 bar at the top of one of the capital’s most famous landmarks.

NSPCC Fundraiser Colman Cawe said: “It’s a great cause, and a great opportunity to test your fitness and stamina in a very unique way. We welcome all runners, whether they’re aiming to break the record, or just want the opportunity to take the challenge of conquering the Gherkin!”
