Jurassic Coast Challenge

When: 25-27 March 2011

Where: Chesil Beach Hoilday Park, Portland Road, Weymouth, Dorset

Details: If you’re looking for an event to push your body to its limits, then this three day marathon running epic could be it!

Jurassic-ChallengeDay one starts with a run along the beach of Studland Bay, past Old Harry rocks, through Swanage and straight into some tough coastal running along the South West Coast Path and finishing in Lulworth Cove.

Day two sees runners enjoy the delights of Durdle Door with steep ascents and descents before the course begins to level off after Ringstead Bay.  Weymouth hosts some welcome tarmac followed by an enjoyable lap of Portland to warm down before finishing at the event HQ on the ferry bridge road between Weymouth and Portland.

The finals day starts with a challenging and muddy underfoot course along coastal foot paths towards Abbostbury where flat ground then takes over for the  next 10km until Eype’s mouth where the hilly fun starts again.  It’s then a short jog to the finish point just to the East of Charmouth.

Three marathons in as many days is no easy feet but if you think you’re up for the challenge, why not give it a go!
