Following on from last year’s fantastic event held in Manchester, Liverpool is now playing host to the World Netball Series from the 19-21st November. Spectators will witness some of the world’s greatest netball in a fast and vibrant tournament as the top netballing teams battle it out.
England, New Zealand, Jamaica, Australia, South Africa and Malawi will go head to head with New Zealand looking to retain the title they won at last year’s event.
Having also scooped the Commonwealth gold, they are on fine form and hoping to continue this winning streak.

The series will see the new format of FastNet in play once again, a style of play that is becoming increasingly popular on the international circuit.
The rules
- Matches are split into six minute quarters with 3 x 2 minute breaks.
- Substitutions are made in a ‘rolling substitution’ format whilst the game is still in play. An unlimited number of subs per team per quarter are allowed.
- After a goal is scored, the game restarts from a centre pass taken by the team who conceded the last goal.
- During the game, but before the start of the quarter, each team may elect one quarter as a Power Play, where any goals that are scored are doubled.
- Coaches are able to coach from the team bench or coaching area.
- Shooters are also now allowed to shoot from both inside and outside the goal circle, with all goals scored outside the circle worth double.
England will be looking to improve on their fourth position from last year and with a Commonwealth bronze medal under their belt, sprits are riding high. The England team that will be competing at the series is as follows:
Louisa Brownfield
Rachel Dunn
Jo Harten
Pamela Cookey (vice captain)
Karen Atkinson (captain)
Tamsin Greenway
Serena Guthrie
Sasha Corbin
Stacey Francis
Eboni Beckford-Chambers
Lindsay Keable
Sonia Mkoloma
National Coach, Sue Hawkins, commented, “The squad provides an exciting blend of experience and youth and the World Netball Series gives the youngsters a great opportunity to develop their skills on the International stage alongside many of the senior athletes who won Bronze for England in the Commonwealth Games.”
