Nike 6.0 Performance Outerwear
Price: £110 – £160
Stockists: store.nike.com
Nike have really pushed the board out (excuse the pun!) for their first ever performance outerwear collection which has been inspired by and engineered to meet the needs of ski and snowboard teams.
Developed with the feedback of athletes, the 6.0 collection is a salute to mountain living and a non-stop lifestyle and to kick off the season they’ve named each jacket and snow pant ‘cheers’ in 13 different language as a wintery celebration and a preview of things to come.

The collection features bold colours and bright prints perfect for hitting the slopes in style, with Storm-FIT fabric designed to repel the wind, rain and snow keeping you dry and comfortable.
The bold print garments are designed to take on all conditions, all season, with waterproofing, breathability and quality construction. Recycled fabrics and carefully considered construction techniques have been used to create the collection in a sustainable way, so not only will you look good, but you can feel good too!

Clarks – OpenAir GTX
Price: £69.99 – £89.99
Stockists: clarks.co.uk

New for the Autumn/Winter season are Clarks’ Icicle and Incline GTX collection. Part of the OpenAir range they have been produced to combine the style and durability needed for outdoor walking, hiking and mountaineering.
Perfect for more general trail and trek activities, they include a layer of Active Air technology for extra cushioning and comfort and a Rock technology sole for greater durability and grip. Climate control from in-built Gore-Tex completes the package for these light yet supportive shoes.
On testing the Icicle Lo GTX style from the range we found them to be incredibly light, especially for a shoe hailed for it’s hiking and mountaineering suitability. However, once on they’re incredibly supportive, and even though we had the shoe version rather than the boot they fitted well to cushion the foot and gave support to the back of the ankle.
An added benefit to this range is the Wave technology, with the shoe designed to make walking easier through a pivoted sole and cushioned forepart. A curved rocker sole rolls from heel to toe minimising the amount of foot bending and flexing which helps to reduce fatigue, conserve energy and reduce the impact and stress on joints.
Although fantastic for outdoor walking, mountaineering and hiking might be a little adventurous for this particular model. However, they are perfect for active urban walking and look pretty good too! The detailing and colours of this range make for an attractive choice of outdoor footwear that we’d definitely recommend for lighter outdoor activity.
Munchy Seeds
Price: £3.50 (200g)
Stockists: munchyseeds.co.uk
Lots of snack products land on the desk here at Sportsister, but only the ones that are both delicious and nutritious get the Sportsister seal of approval. Munchy Seeds definitely passed the test!
Seeds have long been known for their health properties but rarely are they thought of as the snack of choice for a tasty, tempting nibble. However, Munchy Seeds change all that, and as an excellent natural source of essential vitamins, minerals, oils and fibre they’re good for you too!
Available in a variety of flavours, some are sweet (we loved the vanilla), some savoury and some spicy. We found them great to enjoy just as as a munchy snack, but also as a tasty addition when sprinkled on top of a salad or cereal. But be warned, once you start nibbling you won’t want to stop – they are really quite addictive!
Topshop SNO
Price: £6 – £120
Stockists: topshop.com

Next month will see the return of Topshop’s successful SNO range, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it! This year’s collection includes everything from jackets and ski suits to snoods and thermal underwear – perfect for keeping you toasty when it’s cold outside.
More trend-inspired pieces feature in the range this Winter season, with fur accessories, animal prints and flashes of bright coral and pink spicing things up. All designs are breathable and wind/waterproof to protect you from the elements.
We love the jackets, which come in classic black, coral and a monochrome animal print designs with fur-trimmed hoods. Based on the functionality of the ‘boarding’ style jacket, they also feature a ‘snow skirt’ to keep out the snow and a soft fleece interior, glove and goggle pocket.
The collection will be available in selected stores, but if you don’t fancy braving the cold before you’ve got your hands on some of this Winter clobber just head to topshop.com from November 7 for the full range.
