In the tropical heat of South-East Asia, Team GB are working hard to put themselves in prime position for medals on the tenth day of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games. Despite the GB girls recording some great achievements, there was disappointment at coming away with no medals. PB’s and new UK records were thrown in the javelin by Sophie McKinna and Alice Loveridge was on impressive form in the table tennis and is looking to continue in style as she looks forward to the Commonwealth Games in October. Singapore 2010: Team GB Youth Olympic Games Round-up (Day 7): [11]
There was further success for Team GB on day 7 of Singapore’s Youth Olympic Games. Katie Byers pole vaulted to victory, winning the B final whilst Victoria Ohuruogu finished third in the women’s 400m B final. Singapore 2010: Team GB Youth Olympic Games Round-up (Day 6): [12]
Ellie Faulkner and Rachel Kelly brought the Team GB medal tally to four on Day 6 with a pair of bronze medals in the swimming pool. There was further success as Carian Scudamore, competing as part of Team Europe who won gold in the equestrian team competition. Click here for more. [12]

Team GB swimmer, Rachael Kelly (pictured), has reached the final of the women’s 100m butterfly along with gymnast, Jessica Hogg, who will compete in the floor final on Sunday. Singapore 2010: Second golden day for Team GB at Youth Olympic Games: [14]
Rowing pair, Fiona Gammond and Georgia Howard-Merrill, ensured it was a second consecutive golden day for Team GB with victory on the Marina Reservoir. Singapore 2010: Taekwondo Jones gives GB first Youth Olympic Gold: [15]
It was smiles all around as a sudden death victory by Jade Jones at the Youth Olympic Games earned Britain its first ever gold medal at the event. In a high pressure match which was forced into extra time, Jones defeated Vietnam’s Than Thao Nguyen 9-6 in the 55kg weight category. Click here for more. [15]

Weightlifting: Zoe Smith is youngest ever to qualify for Commonwealth Games: [26]
Zoe Smith, 16, is the youngest English weightlifter ever to qualify for a Commonwealth Games after a great performance at the 2010 British Senior Championships.
