Details: The spotlight is on the British women as they go head to head with some of the world’s best judo players at the GB Judo World Cup. 25 British women will take to the floor at the NIA in Birmingham all looking for victory on home turf.

Judo has a habit of producing the unexpected, champions can be toppled in an instant and rankings can sometimes seem like a meaningless number. So expect some drama and world class action as these women battle it out for the top spot.

With London 2010 looming, the athletes are looking to pave their paths to the Games as vital ranking points are at stake.

The GB World Cup provides a rare glimpse at the sport’s elite as they turn out on British shores, the Judo players illustrating athleticism, discipline and cunning in exciting five minute showdowns.

Saturday sees the lightweight categories: -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg and the -70kg, -78kg and +78 on the Sunday. Tickets can be purchased through The Ticket Factory on 08443388000 or online at www.theticketfactory.com priced £14 for adults per day and £6 for children and senior citizens.
