Details: England will head to Sri Lanka in November to play two One Day Internationals and and International Twenty20 series in the capital, Colombo.
The squad was announced last week and with three key players missing, there will be some fresh faces on the pitch. Katherine Brunt, 2010’s England women’s Cricketer of the Year, and Holly Colvin will remain at home during the tour to complete fitness programmes and university studies respectively. Sussex Cricketer, Sarah Taylor, will also be absent as she takes some time out from international cricket.
The squad welcomes three graduates from the England Women’s Academy. Lauren Griffiths (Cheshire), Fran Wilson (Somerset) and Susie Rowe (Kent) will all make an appearance in Sri Lanka after impressive seasons for their counties.
Charlotte Edwards who captained the team to victory in the last World Cup in Australia will be captaining the squad again.
