World Cup Football for the Homeless

The Homeless World Cup has a charity football for sale to beat homelessness. All proceeds go to support the Homeless World Cup with the eighth edition of the annual competition taking place in Rio from September 19 – 26. The competition will bring together 64 national teams of homeless players, including 16 women’s teams on Copacabana Beach, Brazil.

The charity has seen a high success rate in turning around the lives of homeless people, with 73% of players coming off drugs and alcohol, moving into jobs, education, homes, training, reuniting with families and even going on to become players and coaches and set up social enterprises enabling other homeless people to change their situation.
