Athletics: Williams to attend Team GB meeting for aspiring youngsters

August 8, 2010

Ahead of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) which are set to take place in Singapore at the end of this month, Olympic gold medallist Amy Williams is to pass on a few words of wisdom to the party at a welcome meeting on Monday (August 9).

Amy-WilliamsSkeleton gold medallist Williams, along with Georgina Harland; a pentathlon bronze medallist who is also on the Olympic Committee for the Youth Games, will sit down with the young athletes to deliver some encouragement, reassurance, and advice ahead of the games.

The meeting will also allow the competitors to receive their Team GB kit in what will be a nervous time as for some it’s the first time they’ve competed in such a prestigious event like the Olympics.
