Golf: Kelly Tidy selected for Junior Ryder Cup Team

England’s Kelly Tidy has been selected for the European Junior Ryder Cup team, which will take on the USA youngsters at Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland, from September 27-28.

Kelly, the British ladies’ champion, will be making her third appearance in a junior European team.

The 18-year-old England international from Royal Birkdale played in the 2008 Junior Ryder Cup match and last year was a member of the European side in the Junior Solheim Cup, when she was the top scorer with a 100 per cent record of three wins from three matches.

Kelly’s selection, together with that of the rest of the team, was announced at the end of the European Young Masters in Hungary.

The European team comprises six under-16 players and six under-18s (three boys and three girls in each category) and will be led by Captain Gary Stangl and his Vice Captain Fiona Norris.
