Tales from the Saddle from top cycling authors

Details: With excitement mounting for the gruelling Tour de France race, which kicked off at the weekend (3rd – 25th July), cycling enthusiasts are invited to an evening of Tales from the Saddle at Stanfords.

Leading specialist retailer of travel information, maps and travel books, Stanfords is to host talks by top cycling authors Tom Kevill-Davies (The Hungry Cyclist) and Tom Bogdanowicz (The London Cycling Guide) on Tuesday, 20 July at 7.30pm in its Covent Garden store in Long Acre.

Come and hear how the Hungry Cyclist, Tom Kevill-Davies, planned his gastronomic adventure starting off in New York City, ascending over the Rockies to Baja California and through Central America to Brazil . His personal, anecdotal accounts of planning such a phenomenal trip are not to be missed.

The recently published London Cycling Guide is the must-have guide for London cyclists, with 30 leisurely routes covering both inner and outer London. The author of the book, Tom Bogdanowicz, will pass on his top tips for getting around the capital.

Cycling specialists, Sustrans, has just released a brand new series of regional cycling books in conjunction with the AA and John Grimshaw from Sustrans will be there to advise on all the reasons to dust down your bike and start pedalling again.

Come along and hear about the different perspectives from three cycling enthusiasts and see the vast range of maps and guides for the budding cyclist that Stanfords has to offer. The authors will be on hand to answer two-wheeled queries and will be signing copies of their books.
