Details: The glamour of athletics’ prestigious Diamond League heads to the North East for the first time as many of the world’s finest athletes line up for the Aviva British Grand Prix at the Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday 10 July, just two weeks before the European Championships in Spain.

American 100m record holder and 2007 triple World champion Tyson Gay has already confirmed his attendance. While the Brits will be fine tuning their performances ahead of the Europeans, and some may also be looking to stay in the hunt for the 4 carat diamond on offer as part of the ‘IAAF Diamond Race’.
