Keswick Mountain Festival offers adrenaline rush this weekend

The annual Keswick Mountain Festival kicks off this weekend with a wide variety of hands-on activities and entertainment. New to this year’s festival is the Adventure Base, which now has six different themed areas- bike, climb, hike, kids, paddle, and triathlon.

Keswick-FestivalThe festival has plenty lined up to keep you busy. There is the chance to learn useful tips from experts, experience new activities, partake in workshops, and taste local foods. Top adventure stars will also be in attendance and giving lectures.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who conquered Mount Everest, Leo Houlding, who is also offering the chance to go scrambling with him, and Dave Birkett will all be speaking.

For the more competitive crowd, there are prizes and races to be won. The festival’s website has competitions offering coveted prizes such as a holiday to Bhutan and free accommodation at the festival. There will also be fell races, triathlons, and swims.

The Keswick Mountain Festival will be taking place on May 19-23. The Adventure Base is located on the shore of Derwentwater, beneath the Skiddaw and Catbells summits.
