Peak Performance’s mix and match metallics
Prices: £40 - £85
Stockists: www.peakperformance.com
Proving that fashion and sportswear really do mix, we’re loving this mix and match metallic range from stylish Swedish sportswear brand Peak Performance.
Not for wallflowers, the Pulse Short Tights (£55.00) look great on their own or can be layered under shorts for a more discreet look. The Double Top will cover most sports and the fabric has a natural antibacterial function to ensure you keep smelling fresh. The Pulse Jacket is perfect for layering and looks good enough to wear off the sports field too.
The range comes in a host of great colours including coastal blue, arabica, black, raspberry pink, lime zest, mid grey and white so you can mix and match till your hearts content.
Trigirl’s first running range
Prices: From £36-£65
Stockists: www.trigirl.co.uk
London based Trigirl is one of the original women only triathlon kit brands. For this summer they have decided to add a collection of running wear to their range too.
Designed by French sportswear über guru, Vincent Jalbert the collection has successfully managed to fuse sleek retro styling and seductive colours with flattering fit and comfort.
It hits stores this month so look out for slim line vests, performance jackets, and running shorts in grape, emerald, black and white colour combinations. Items are produced on a limited run, meaning you won’t see loads of other women wearing the same kit as you.
Speedo TriathELITE wetsuits
Prices: £210, £260, £360
Stockists: www.speedo.co.uk
As the triathlon season fast approaches make sure you check out Speedo’s new range of wetsuits. Created by Speedo’s world renowned Aqualab, the suits are as you would expect hi-tech and hi-performance.
There are three different suits available depending on your level.
STR Comp – this is perfect for novice triathletes. It provides added buoyancy and maximum flexibility. It features a seamless torso, super stretch under arm panels and an anatomical design.
STR Pro – this suit is designed for intermediate open water swimmers and offers little resistance in the water. The main difference between this and the novice suit is the fabric. The STR Pro is constructed from Yamomoto SCS 39 cell – which for us means even greater buoyancy and greater flexibility.
STR Elite – this suit sets a new benchmark in wetsuit technology combining Speedo LZR Racer compression technology and is aimed at top level triathletes. It features aerodome panels at the front of the torso which increases buoyancy by 30% shifting the swimmer into the optimum body positioning the water.
Wetsuits are available in sizes XS – L.
Weleda’s Massage Balm with Arnica
Price: £9.95 (100ml)
Stockists: www.weleda.co.uk
OK, so this may not be a new product, but it is a classic among runners and other athetes. It has remained Weleda’s all-time top selling natural remedy since the company began in the 1920s.
Use it before a training session or event, for a warm up massage to prepare muscles for the gruelling task ahead. A soothing rub down after the race will help the body relax and rid itself of lactic acid and other chemicals that can contribute to stiffness, cramp or aches and pains the following day.
Arnica is a natural anti-inflammatory, valued for its natural ability to release tight, knotty muscles. Weleda add organic rosemary to invigorate, soothing extract of silver birch leaves, and warming lavender to relax.
