Review: Speedo TriathELITE wetsuits

As the triathlon season fast approaches make sure you check out Speedo’s new range of wetsuits.Created by Speedo’s world renowned Aqualab, the suits are as you would expect hi-tech and hi-performance.

There are three different suits available depending on your level.

STR Comp – this is perfect for novice triathletes. It provides added buoyancy and maximum flexibility. It features a seamless torso, super stretch under arm panels and an anatomical design.

STR Pro – this suit is designed for intermediate open water swimmers and offers little resistance in the water. The main difference between this and the novice suit is the fabric. The STR Pro is constructed from Yamomoto SCS 39 cell – which for us means even greater buoyancy and greater flexibility.

STR Elite – this suit sets a new benchmark in wetsuit technology combining Speedo LZR Racer compression technology and is aimed at top level triathletes. It features aerodome panels at the front of the torso which increases buoyancy by 30% shifting the swimmer into the optimum body positioning the water.

Sportsister tested one out at the recent SPW Triathlon in London’s Hyde Park and was really impressed. The suit really repelled the water meaning it stayed lightweight and allowed you to glide easily though the water. The quick drying fabric meant you were able to make your transition in good time. There were no bulky seams or awkward edges which meant no rubbing or chaffing occurred.
