The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympics Games (LOCOG) is encouraging more people and sports fans to ¨sign up¨ and register their interests in the event.

Fans can go to www.tickets.london2012.com and indicate which sports they are interested in. They will then receive updates on major sporting events, test events and Olympic Games updates and developments.

Applicants will also be among the first to find out when tickets will go on sale in 2011 and be able to apply for them.

LOCOG have also announced they will be increasing the amount of tickets available for London 2010 from 7.7m to 8m.

An extra half a million will also be on sale for the Paralympics Games, the total available tickets mounting to 2m.

Over half the tickets will be accessible via public ballot process, and will be on sale from spring next year.

Prestige hospitality tickets will account for less than 1% of tickets on sale
