Win tickets to the Outdoors Show

March 11, 2010

Are you the adventurous type who longs for the great outdoors? Are you fed up with being cooped inside thanks to the harsh winter-weather? Fear not, the Outdoors Show is here for you… bringing the adventures of the outdoors, indoors.

The-Outdoors-ShowSportsister is offering its readers the chance to win one of five pairs of tickets to the annual event that is once again being held at Birmingham’s NEC.

The show runs from 26th-28th March 2010 and will feature activities from walking and hiking, to biking and climbing. There will also be fashion shows, a wilderness camp and 100s of outdoor exhibitions to check out.

In an Outdoors Show exclusive, ‘Touching the Void’s’ Joe Simpson will talk publicly for the first time about his struggle to survive in the Peruvian Andes. Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell, TV personality and adventurer Ben Fogle, British climber Leo Holding and TV presenters Simon King and Kate Humble will also be in attendance.

Trilive, the only triathlon show north of London, will also be at the exhibition for the first time. Experts will be on hand to explain about the sport and tell visitors how they can get involved.

A favourite at the show last year, the SkyMasters competition is back, showcasing elite climbers racing head-to-head across a floating overhanging course held in the NEC’s rafters. Definitely not one to be missed.

And returning to the show by popular demand is The Wilderness Camp; offering visitors the chance to learn survival skills for dealing with tough terrains, including Arctic igloo living, desert animal tracking, rabbit skinning and lots more.
