We’ve teamed up with Armadillo to offer you the chance to win a pair of calf and Achilles protector guards.
The calf and Achilles protector is suitable for most field sports where there is a risk of impact to the rear of leg including football, rugby and hockey at all levels of sport.
The Armadillo system uses multiple over lapping plates. The plates collide with each other during impact and subsequently, impact energy is lost as friction and is dissipated in all directions.
Other protection systems tend to be made in a single sheet and as a result impact energy dissipates across the sheet. They also tend to be constructed as one piece and are therefore not able to flex to respond to joint of body ligament movement.

The protectors are made up from a unique combination of materials. The plate sections are made from Aridite, which is extremely lightweight, durable and works not just to reduce energy impact, but also to reduce moisture and bacterial build up.
The backing is made of a fabric called Trek-Dry which is highly efficient at drawing moisture away from the skin, keeping the wearer dry, comfortable and odour-free.
It protects the calf and Achilles tendon and other parts of the back of the leg from cuts, bruises, abrasion or muscle and tendon damage which can happen as a result of impact collision from behind.
Following Armadillo’s relationship with the PFA, a number of leading Premier League and Championship players will be wearing the Protectors.
They are available in small, medium, large and extra large sizes, covering a height range from 4’ to 6’3’’ so they can be worn by children, teenagers and adults alike, so please include your height when entering.
