Britain’s women skeleton sliders have finished outside the medal positions in round four of the Skeleton World Cup at Winterberg in Germany.

Despite impressive performances from the three athletes, Shelley Rudman, Donna Creighton and Amy Williams, the highest ranking was from the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter games silver medallist Rudman, who finished fourth.

Having already picked up a World Cup gold and silver medal this season, Rudman was just five-hundredths of a second away from a bronze medal position.

Creighton produced a career best in the World Cup rounds and finished joint sixth with reigning World Champion and overall winner of the 2008/9 World Cup, Germany’s Marion Trott.

Finally Amy Williams grabbed her fourth top 10 finish in her 2009/10 World Cup campaign finishing 10^th.

Andi Schmid, British Skeleton performance director, said: “We didn’t get on the podium, but we had three athletes in the top-10, which is a great result for the team. It shows we have a consistently good team.”
