Rowing: Stroke for Stroke Sponsored Row

When: January 25th – 31st 2010

Where: Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing centres across the UK

Details: Siemens Plc and The Stroke Association have launched their third annual Stroke for Stroke campaign as they continue in their quest to raise awareness of strokes.

They aim to highlight the benefits of a healthy diet and regular exercise as preventions to a stroke.

Members of the public are being challenged to row 10km or more whilst being sponsored during the week, helping to raise vital funds.

As well as raising money the Siemens – the High Proformance Partner of GB Rowing and the Stroke for Stroke Association hope to show anybody, irrespective of age can suffer from a stroke, if they are not fit and healthy.

The partners have joined up with Nuffield Health to offer a free five day pass to their nationwide network of Fitness and Wellbeing Centres.

Olympic gold medalist, Zac Purchase, is backing the campaign, “Regular exercise is a key factor in staying healthy and reducing the risk of stroke, and rowing is an ideal, all-round, low-impact workout.”

More info: The campaign is open to everyone across the UK and people can get involved by visiting www.strokeforstroke.co.uk or calling 020 7566 1503.
