On day two of the Para-Cycling Track World Championships in Manchester Britain’s women secured two golds courtesy of tandem pairing Aileen McGlynn and Ellen Hunter (B&VI) and Sarah Storey in the LC1 3km pursuit.
McGlynn and Hunter broke their own world record with a time of 1:09.054. This is the third world title in a row for the duo who are also the current Olympic champions.
32 year old Storey had already broken the world record in her morning qualification race, and smashed that by a further two seconds in the final, where she caught American Greta Neimanas after five laps of the 12-lap final.
Last month the Paralympic champion also competed in the National Championships and successfully defended her individual pursuit title in the event which is also open to able-bodied athletes.
She will compete in the 500m time-trial later today (Sunday).
