Details: The first round of the 2009/2010 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classic will be held at the Manchester Velodrome from October 30 to November 1. It will be the first major international event of the track cycling season.

Details: England women play West Indies in three ODIs and three Twenty20 matches this autumn. The trip is the perfect opportunity to prepare for the ICC World Twenty20 group stage, also taking place in St Kitts next May.
England’s all-conquering women head to the West Indies as world champions in both the 50-over and 20-over formats.
England women’s head coach Mark Lane said: “This year has been incredible for the England women’s team.
“After two ICC global events and the Ashes they have proved that they are unarguably the best team in the world in all formats of the game.
“My job now is to start planning for the 2013 World Cup in India and this trip to the West Indies is the first stage of that four-year process.”

Details: The ING New York City Marathon is part of the marathon series, World Marathon Majors - together with four other large and tradition bound races: Boston, Chicago, London and Berlin marathons.
In 1976, in celebration of the U.S. bicentennial, NYRR moved the marathon to the streets of New York’s five boroughs: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan. Movistar Peru Classic presented by Rip Curl

Where: Punta Rocas, Lima, Peru
Details: This is the sixth stop on the ASP world women’s tour and was won last year by Stephanie Gilmore who beat Sofia Mulanovich in the final.

Where: Manchester Velodrome
Details: The UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships will be hosted for the first time by British Cycling. The GB team picked up 20 medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and are hoping to carry on this success.
This will give fans the chance to watch competitors from around the world ahead of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Triandrun Winter Ballbuster
When: Saturday 7th November, 2009
Where: Boxhill, Dorking
Details: Organisers say this event is like no other and they are correct. This duathlon begins with an 8 mile run around a loop of Boxhill followed by a 24 mile bike ride (3 times around the loop). Participants will then put their running shoes back on to run another 8 miles to complete the race. This is a tough event that sells out very year.
