Beach Volleyball: British pair dazzle in Blackpool

British beach volleyball duo, Denise Johns and Lucy Boulton, reached their first European Tour semi-final at the English Masters in Blackpool last week.

Johns and Boulton lost in the bronze medal match to Austrian sisters Doris and Stefanie Schwaiger. However, their fourth place is the best British finish at a European Championship Tour.

“It’s our first tour semi-final so we’re making progress all the time,” said Boulton.

Johns added: “We’re very happy, if we keep improving at this rate we’ll be in good shape for the Olympics.”
