Football: Celtic narrowly take top spot in Scottish League

Hibernian took on Celtic in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, on Sunday, only to lose by 3-1 in the final five minutes.

Joelle Murray led the Hibernian side and almost secured a win, being 1-0 up with five minutes to full-time until Celtic equalized in the shape of their substitute Julie Ferguson. Moments later came two very late goals from Jo Love who inevitably sealed the win.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Academical were up 3-0 against Aberdeen, but The Dons managed to regain momentum and hit back at Hamilton to force a draw at 3-3, securing a point in the league table.

Also, the Edinburgh side, Spartans beat Dundee United 3-2, boosting them to third in the table.

Elsewhere in the League, weather hindered play for many of the day’s games, including; FC Kilmarnock v Glasgow City, Forfar Farmington v Rangers and Boroughmuir Thistle – all of which were postponed.
